Nan Joesten Named University of Colorado 2012 Distinguished Engineering Alumna
The College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado, Boulder honored Nan Joesten with its 2012 Distinguished Engineering Alumna Award at the 47th Annual Engineering Awards Banquet held at the Stadium Club at Folsom Field on the Boulder campus, April 27th, 2012. The selection committee evaluates nominees are evaluated by the selection committee based on achievement of a high level of distinction in his or her field, community and professional service, and continued involvement with CU Engineering; fewer than 1% of CU Engineering graduates are selected to receive the DEAA. Joesten was nominated for the award by one of her professors, David Clough of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at CU, and was presented with the award by Dean Robert H. Davis. A long-time member of the Dean’s Engineering Advisory Council, Nan also chaired the fundraising subcommittee for the newly-dedicated Biotechnology Building, serves on the executive committee of the EAC, and co-chaired the EAC’s task force on student retention.
