Leadership, Worrying, and Attitudes of Gratitude
Inc. magazine’s got an interesting list of 9 daily habits to make you happier. One of them is to let go of your results, as worrying about what’s going to happen based on what you’ve already done is unproductive. Another suggestion is to end each day with gratitude. I’d suggest combining the two, as you can’t be unhappy and grateful at the same time. Practicing an attitude of gratitude – that you appreciate what you have, and are experiencing, in the moment, helps wipe away worry about the future. Give it a try, and see if it helps you.
For me, I’m grateful that I’m preparing for a trip to Marco Island, Florida, later this week to join with my fellow leaders in the ABA’s Section of Litigation. This meeting is focusing on membership, and how we can better deliver the benefits our members want to build their legal careers. I’m always energized when I attend ABA gatherings, and I’ll have a full report next week.
